<Rich> I work as a heavy plant operator on the rail networks all over the place. I work silly amounts of hours to fund my passion of motorsport. I started competing in motorsport in 1981 doing a few club level car trials and autotests with a mini clubman. Then in 1983 took part in my 1st speed trials in a Toyota starlet achieving 2nd place in the handicap class. I also won the edwart walter trophy (a type of participation award) that year.

I have run our sierra XR4X4 with my brother Phil since 2000, making many modifications along the way. I run the car as a team effort with Phil , i.e. he does the design and building and I tend to most of the funding and we both drive it making for good fun competition between us which considering we have very different driving styles normally lands up with very close results. Between us we have collected a good number of class results and last year I won the ACSMC hillclimb championship for our class which is modified production cars over 2000cc.

The car now runs a 2933cc supercharged cosworth V6 producing around 350bhp and 520nm of torque @1800 rpm. We still use standard MT75 4X4 gearbox and diffs. Hence why we occasionally break them! We also run AQUAMIST water injection systems.

As well as the sprints and hillclimbs I still try to do several autotests and car trials with a little bog standard Fiat Punto. These events cause a good laugh and also allows my son and daughter to make a start in motorsport.

I have also been involved marshalling on the startline at the Speed Trials each year since the late seventies
